_Fixing Ransom Ware QUICK.txt (3.68 KB)
There is a post in WATCH-DISCOVERY that is bad, and there is no way of killing it, or reporting it in FACEBOOK.
What it seems to be doing, is either a FAKE RANDOM WARE or RANDOM WARE.. to take over your computer....
Description:
The Post says:"10 biggest breeds of horses" or something to that effect.
The picture shows a hugh horse, and a man beside it.
If you click on it, goes into a frenzy claiming 'RANSOM WARE'. DONT PANIC.
Close off the browser IMMEDIATELY. There are precautions here too. Modem, devices and whether they are synced, networked to each other, and what operating systems.
Biggest problem in almost any dangerous infections, is not to send it to other places, like another desktop, laptop, ipad, cell, tv, phone. Why i say, all of them are at risk, is the idea of the sync or networked together. If they are, then those devices are also problematic, or can be. Cable, unfortunetly, when you shut down the modem, looses the tv, and home phone. Any wired device, can be unplugged from the modem. All the others, will loose their connection to the modem, but they stand to have intacted, LTE+, roaming, to name a few (check that out). Its better though to only use the system that you found this on, or any infection, for that matter.
The Plan:
1) Get out of the browser IMMEDIATELY, unplug a wire, or the modem. If wireless for the most part, you should have at least data information running, like on a cell.
2) In windows, scans can be anything, that you prefer, i personally use Superantispyware, and Malwarebytes, i have a few more, if needed, but these 2 usually solve an issue. Can be found, on the net at any time, download, install, do a scan, before you do anything, if its the first time. Same goes with other scans, from windows or other operating systems.
3) Scans take as long as needed. Today with my terrabyte hard drive, took about 2 1/2 hours. Got a lot of stuff on there. Found over 300 infections, all were web based cookies. Yes, these infections do run with websites, so once done with the scan, i removed them all. Rebooted without the modem on too.
4) Another tool i recommend is CCLEANER, download/install. Run the REGISTRY and the Cleaner side to 0 issues in the Registry and 0 bytes found in the cleaner. May have to do both of them a few times too.
5) Shut down that system, in my case my desktop on windows 10.
6) You should have all your devices down, except tv and the home phone. Plug the modem back in, and wait till its in operating speed. Lights, etc.. will tell you its done.. check your tv, and home phone, they should be operating now. Then one at a time, get your devices back up, and connect to your modem. Job should be done.
7) If you think, that other devices may have got the same thing, do proper scans for each of them for your operating system, then use a proper cleaner for temps and trash removal, for each of them as needed. Job should be done.
SCANS: Should be done without the web or the modem. WHY? Cause in most cases, an infection found, will get deleted, if still on the modem, it may call 'home', and 'home' will rename, move that infection for a later date, then its back to the top of this again. If the modem is off, then the scan finds the infection, deletes it, there is no calling home, so home cant rename or move it anyplace.
MODEM RESETS:
Its advantages, even a few weeks about, to unplug the modem. Wait about 5 minutes, and plug the modem back in, wait for appropriate lights. What this does, is clears the cache in the modem as well, and gives you a clean modem too. Dont forget, wires unplugged from modem, plug them back in. Wireless, ensure in your devices, it connects to the modem wirelessly.
