Back in the days before Vista, you had to check more than one place to disable startup programs. Vista was the first Windows program to include a startup option in one place.
To go to the startup option, open the search box and type "startup" and press enter. A list of startup programs will appear, select a program you want disabled and click on the disable button. keep doing this for all the programs you want disabled.
It's best to have only a few programs enabled because too many slows down your PC or Laptop.
